Sandstone Cleaning Codicote Hitchin

Sandstone Cleaning Codicote Hitchin

This sandstone cleaning Codicote project is about restoring a soiled and stained sandstone tile floor.

The floor has suffered quite a bit of wear and there is probably no sealer on the floor.

So my client was looking for a specialist sandstone cleaning service covering Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

Sandstone Cleaning Codicote – Projet Details

Sandstone tiles are installed in a small kitchen and part hallway in Codicote, which is extremely soiled.

I was asked to clean the sandstone tiled floor as is the homeowner felt the floor was not hygienic and so she wanted a clean floor .

Soil is not unusual on sandstone, as the surface is very abrasive and traps soils very easily.

They were looking for a clean floor, that would continue to look clean and display the natural colours in the tiles, without having to continually scrub the floors on their hands and knees.

I surveyed the floor and recommended a deep cleaning to restore the appearance of the stone.

The homeowner agreed to my quote and we set a date to restore the Limestone.

Cleaning a Sandstone Tiled Kitchen Floor

On the day I arrived the customer had prepared the work area by removing all small items of furniture.

My first step in the sandstone cleaning process was to brush and vacuum the area to remove any loose debris.

I then applied a dilution of sandstone cleaner and then left the cleaner to soak in for ten minutes.

I scrubbed the Limestone using a rotary scrubbing machine with a medium scrubbing brush.

I removed the cleaning slurry and rinsed the floor, removing the liquids with a heavy-duty wet vacuum.

I repeated the cleaning until the soils were removed.

We offer a number of sandstone sealing options for this flooring type.

Giving a matt, satin or gloss finish

After discussing the options, the customer decided on a  matt finish impregnating sealer.

The sealer will help stop spills staining the floor and the sealer makes the floor easier to clean.

My client was certainly impressed with the improvement and was delighted with the results.

It was a real pleasure to have you here, thank you so much for doing a fantastic job!

Sandstone Maintenance Advice

Sealers protect your tiles from staining and enhance their appearance, however, they do wear down over time.

This is when dirt can become ingrained in the pores of the tile, so if you do want to keep your stone floor looking its best, ensure there is always a good coating of sealer.

If you have a stone floor in Hitchin or the surrounding area that you need help with, please drop me a line.

I’ll be happy to help.
