Terracotta Cleaning And Sealing Project In Brighton Sussex
Last Updated on January 15, 2021 by David
A Spanish style Terracotta floor in Brighton. The homeowners were looking to have the floor cleaned, sealed and re-waxed. They used to so this work themselves, but age was catching up with them.

I started by applying a strong sealer remover to remove old sealer and wax residues. After an hour, I scrubbed the floor with a rotary floor machine to release the softened sealer residues.

Then I roinsed the floor and vacuumed up the slurry. I had to repeat the process a number of times to remove all of the sealer residues.
I left the floor overnight to dry.
I returned and applied a couple of coats of colour enhancing impregnating sealer. Once the sealer dried, I applied a layer of floor wax to give the floor a lovely natural look.

I advised the homeowners on the best way to clean their Terracotta floor to extend the life of the finish.
