A polished stone floor wears faster because traffic wear that will start to scratch he polish and change the gloss. Porous tile and stone that is sealed with a coating sealer will gradually suffer from scratch damage.

Grout is frequently the most vulnerable section of a stone or tile installation. Grout is usually a little bit deep-set, so the grout traps more grime than the stone itself. Many floors also often need crack, chip or hole repair.

We take away acid etch marks and scratches by resurfacing. The good thing about natural stone is the fact that it could be re-surfaced, to show a new finish.

Travertine Restoration

I started by applying a heavy-duty Travertine cleaner. The cleaner is gel based and designed to stay liquid for at least 20 minutes. This gives the cleaner time to start softening the soil.

I used a rotary scrubbing machine to agitate the Travertine cleaner into the surface of the floor. The scrubbing action emulsified even more soil.

I removed the dirty slurry with a pressurised water rinse and capture machine. Clean rinse water is sprayed at 800psi into the surface of the floor. The water rinses away the dirty slurry and pressurised spray reaches into holes that a scrubbing machine cannot reach.

I left the floor to dry…Read More
