Do You Want A Beautiful Polish On Your Limestone Floor?

Hello this is Abbey Floor Care and we are near Ashbourne, Derbyshire restoring a white limestone floor.

The main issues with the floor were:
– the limestone tiles starting to look grubby
– there were a number of visible etch mark
– the grout was starting to look grubby
– there was an etch mark on a ledge by the wash basin

We started by installing protective plastic sheeting on the floor from the entrance to the job to protect it from soiling as we went to and from the work area.

We started by deep cleaning the floor using rotary cleaning machines, 800 grit honing powder and cleaning

chemicals.

The 800 grit honing powder was abrasive enough to work dirt out of tiles and grout lines without damaging the

surface of the tiles.

Once the floor had been carefully rinsed we hard honed the floor starting at 100 grit, up to 1500 grit.

The 100 grit honing smoothed the surface of the tiles and removed the etch marks, scuffs and scratches. We then

hard honed the floor at 200, 400 800 grit, leaving the floor nice and smooth. We then soft honed to 1500 grit

giving a lovely soft sheen to the floor

We then left the floor to dry for a couple of hours.

While the floor was doing we used diamond hand honing pads to hone the ledge and remove the visible etch marks.
The ledge was then hand honed to 1200 grit to match with the rest of the ledge.

The ledge was left to dry for an hour and we then applied a couple of coats of high quality water based

impregnating sealer.

Once the floor had dried sufficiently we applied a high quality water based impregnating sealer

The results as you can see are stunning.
